TIJUANA FLATS MAKES LOCAL CONTRIBUTION DURING OPENING WEEK

Tijuana Flats Donates $1460 To Boys & Girls Clubs of Lakeland and Mulberry From Opening Week Proceeds

ORLANDO, Fl. On Monday, July 13, 2009, Tijuana Flats, famous for its fresh Tex-Mex food and its unique ambiance, debuted its new location in Lakeland at 4796 South Florida Ave. To celebrate the occasion, the restaurant donated $1460 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lakeland and Mulberry. The money was raised during the restaurantʼs VIP opening celebration on July 10 and from the proceeds of July 16.
For more than 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Lakeland & Mulberry has been in the forefront of youth development, working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social, and family circumstances. A private, nonprofit organization, Boys & Girls Clubs provides children with a positive place to go, results oriented programming and a professional staff to guide them."As a kid, I was on the Boys Club Swim Team since I was 11 years old. I felt this was a GREAT group to give back to and we are happy to make this donation," said Tijuana Flats Franchisee Owner, Bob Cawthorn.
The new Tijuana Flats Lakeland location features the restaurantʼs made-to-order menu, a 14- pump hot sauce bar and all the lively atmosphere patrons have come to expect from the Tex-Mex powerhouse. The 2,000-square-foot restaurant accommodates indoor seating for 64 visitors, with seating for an additional 16 in the outdoor patio area.
