Fired Up for 2008 Holidays
ORLANDO, Fl.- Tijuana Flats fired up the 2008 holiday season by raising $44,468.61 for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation through the sale of the restaurant'sfive-dollar bottle of "Smack My Ass & Call me Santa!"holiday hot sauce.
The special edition sauce is part of the restaurant's "Just in Queso" Foundation, which provides aid to individuals, communities and organizations in need. "Smack My Ass & Call me Santa!" was sold between November 10 and December 24, 2008, throughout the restaurant's 66 locations in Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
"Tijuana Flats would like to thank every customer who purchased a bottle of our holiday sauce this season. Because of them, we are able to donate such an enormous amount of money to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, said Brian Wheeler, Tijuana Flats owner.
Headquartered in Tampa, Fla., the Pediatric Cancer Foundation exists to raise money to fund pediatric cancer research. Their focus is to fund research which will lead to the elimination of pediatric cancer worldwide.
The restaurant's top selling store during the holiday fundraiser was the Baymeadows location, located at 9942 Old Baymeadows Road in Jacksonville, Fla. General Manager
Bill Avery and his team sold 816 bottles of "Smack My Ass & Call me Santa!" sauce, with sales equaling $4,355.
